Mom and Dad

"I grew up as the third of four children in a working-class Catholic family in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, in the decade before the outbreak of the political conflict that everyone called "The Troubles". I'm not saying that we live in a shoebox. No, it was basically a small terraced house with two houses next to each other. Upstairs and downstairs rooms ", Liam told 2022.
"But money was always hard to come by , even though both of my parents were working. My Dad Bernhard (born 1917 and deceased 1988) was an elementary school caretaker and my mom Katherine (born 1926 and deceased 2020) was a helped serve up the grub for the kids at lunchtime, endlessly washing dishes at the school for more than thirty years . She walked to work on foot every day. No matter what the weather was. There and back a total of just around two kilometers, and on the way home she carried the leftovers that she was allowed to take from school and we got for dinner in the evening. I learned early on from my mother that you keep your job because you need it to live, not because you love it. I often wonder what will become of our children, whether they will have as much stamins as my mother."
"I was asked if I was a strict father. I think you should ask my sons that. I think I'm very disciplined, but I've always tried not to be too strict. I would rather say that I am a fair and conservative father. Traditional rules in parenting are very important to me. The good thing is that we talk to each other a lot. We trust each other, and that's really important. I think my sons know that no matter what happens, I will always be there for them. What Natasha and I have always wanted to achieve, is that we teach Micheál and Daniel decency so that they know how to behave. That may sounds quite normal, but I have heard from many people 'How nice, your sons look straight in the eyes when you talk to them. They are so polite and have manners' , and when I hear something like that it makes me very proud. Respecting my fellow human beings is something I always do and it's important to me. And I want my son's to do the same."

Maidin mhaith a stór Liam, guím lá iontach síochánta oraibh agus tá súil agam go mbeidh cupán tae ag an mbeirt againn le chéile go luath.  Sin an t-aon mhian atá agam fós.
Is agallamh an-suntasach a thug tú arís é an t-agallamh seo a roghnaigh mé uait inniu. Nuair a léigh mé na focail, tuigim go raibh go leor grá i do shaol, in ainneoin na gcoinníollacha deacra go léir. Tá éad orm leat mar ní raibh aon rud mar sin agam riamh. Táim sásta duit.
Tabhair aire mhaith duit féin agus fan sláintiúil. Tá sé go deas go bhfuil tú ann.
