About humor and good friends

Actually, I always wanted to write something about Liam Neeson here regularly. But over the last few months, I've found it damn hard to concentrate on the person I really appreciate as a human being.
Depression, lack of self-confidence, and self-esteem keep preventing me from continuing. I'm not feeling well...
Despite everything, I decided to write a new post again today.
I found a nice interview in a German movie magazine that Liam gave on the occasion of the premiere of premiere of his new movie "The Naked Gun" in Berlin last week.
In the interview, Liam was asked how he got the role of Frank Drebin Jr and what kind of humor makes him laugh.
In the first question, Liam was asked," Were you a fan of the original "Naked Gun" movies,  in which Leslie Nielson played the leading role?"
And Liam answered," Yes, I was and I still am. I remember very well when the films came out in cinemas. I was still living in London at the time and went to the movies regularly. This movie series was unique and insanely silly at the time. They had a funny and original sense of humor. It was a new kind of slapstick that was well received by the audience. I was very impressed by how a character actor like Leslie Nielson made such a leap from one acting genre to another and went through such a transformation and did such nonsense in the movies. "
In the next question m Liam was asked," How did you get the role of Frank Drebin Jr?"
Liam replied to this question," In 2014,  I played in the western comedy "A Million Ways To Die In The West" .Seth McFarlane directed the movie and after the end of filming Seth and I stayed in touch. Two or three years ago we met for dinner and he told me about a project that was on his mind. He told me that he wanted to make a reboot of the Naked Gun movies. It wasn't supposed to be a remake of the original movies. He was thinking about doing a junior version of the Leslie Nielson character and suddenly said to me ' It's about time Frank junior come on the scene ' and looked at me and said ' How about it,  do you want to do the part?' and I just said ' send me the script '. I read the script and couldn't stop laughing. I realized very quickly that I wanted to take on this role."
At another point in the in the interview Liam was asked:" How hard was it for you to stay serious in the midts of all the nonsense?"
...and Liam answered," It depends on your form on the day ,or on the colleagues you're in front of the camera with. Danny Huston, who plays the villain in "The Naked Gun" ,for example. We known each other for a long time and are old pals. Danny and I have already played together in "Marlowe" and "Wrath Of The Titans" . I was looking forward to being in front of the camera with him again.
"In some scenes, when I looked at him or he looked at me, we always had to start laughing. Of course this means that we needed a little longer for some scenes, but we also had a lot of fun on the film set. At some point we agreed that we would only fix our eyes on each other's forehead. Then it worked, but not always"...and laughed as he told the story.
"Mr Neeson what makes you laugh?"
"Everything that is crazy and funny. " Liam answered the question and continued," Good old slapstick from the twenties and thirties of the last century. My heroes are Laurel and Hardy. I laughed my head off at them as a child. ...and yes,  and Buster Keaton too. He always made me laugh too. I always went to the movies on Saturdays for the matinee screening. Charlie Chaplin too, of course. But I have to admit that I only discovered Chaplin relatively late."
The journalist said to Liam," They always say the Germans have no sense of humor and asked him ," Do you know any German comedians?"
"Oh yes, I know one. His name is Loriot. Am I promouncing the name correctly?", Liam asked. His civil name is Vicco von Bülow and he had a fantastic sense of humour. I've often laughed heartliy and shed tears at his sketches."
I must confess that I was very pleased at this point in the interview, because I am a very big fan of this icon of German humor. If I had the opportunity to recommend another icon of German humor to Liam, I would recommend Heinz Ehardt to him. I think Liam would really like Heinz Ehardt with his wonderful word acrobatics and facial expressions.
At the end of the interview, Liam was asked about a running gag in the movie, " A running gag in "The Naked Gun" is that you are constantly being handed paper cups of coffee from all sides. Do you actually drink a lot of coffee regularly?"
Liam laughs and replies," Yeah, that's really is a hilarious running gag. I used to drink a lot of coffee, but a few years ago I developed problems with my joints in my hands and was treated for this. During one session I was asked if I drank a lot of coffee and I said 'Yes". I was told that this was the cause of my pain and that I should reduce my coffee consumption. I switched to tea and have only been drinking decaffeinated tea ever since. I only drink a cup of coffee in the morning after getting up. Sometimes a cup in the afternoon too. You know m it's like smoking. It's a vice that you enjoy and are reluctant to give up. I have given up smoking a few years ago. Even though I sometimes miss it, because I loved smoking. Coffee has kept a small place in my life. "

A Liam a chara, tá súil agam ó chroí go mbeimid in ann bualadh le chéile lá éigin agus cupán tae a bheith againn le chéile. Ba bhreá liom labhairt leat go pearsanta uair éigin. Tá fadhbanna agam i mo shaol agus ba bhreá liom lá a fháil nuair a bhféadfainn breathnú siar agus a fheiceáil conas atá na scáthanna dorcha tar éis socrú síos ar m'anam arís. Bheadh sé go hálainn dá bhféadfá uair an chloig nó dhó de do shaol a thabhairt dom. Sin uile atá uaim.
Tabhair aire mhaith duit féin agus do do bheirt mhac iontacha agus fan sláintiúil. Is iontach an rud é go bhfuil sibh ann. Go raibh maith agat as ucht do thacaíocht do UNICEF agus d'eagraíochtaí eile. Go raibh maith agat as gach rud. Is iontach an rud é go bhfuil sibh ann.
