He is a living painting

One of Liamˋs most memorable performances on stage took place between July 16 and 27,2008 ,  at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York City , where he appeared on stage on stage at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at the John Jay College in the play *Eh Joy* written by Samuel Beckett. What this role make unique was that , in the 30-minutes-play -which is an adaptation of a 1960ˋs TV movie - he sits on a bed the entire time and doesnˋt say a single word , while his thoughts swirl around him , voiced by British actress Penelope Wilton. Throughout the play Liam relied solely on his facial expressions to convey emotion , and these expressions were captured by camera from various angles and distances and projected onto a screen for the audience to see.
Critics were deeply impressed by his presentation.
the New York Times wrote at that time : "Neeson demonstrates the power of facial expression . He is a living painting . Neesonˋs tormented face on the screen is a flesh and blood , tortured figure straight out of an El-Greco-painting - a sigh that is both terrifying and beautiful to behold. the New York Times called the 30-minutes performance an unforgettable experience .
Overall , Liamˋs performance was considered one of the absolute highlights of that yearˋs festival.
In addition to this appearances for *Eh Joe* , Liam joined Ralph Fiennes on the afternoon of July 26 for a reading of selections from Samuel Beckett , during which the Irish writerˋs poetry and prose were recited.
